It is great to see staff and students in person and continue to connect with families through technology. As we come to the end of this first week of voluntary return to in-class learning we want to reach out and answer a few questions:
1 – If your child came this week but will NOT be coming next week, please contact their teacher so they can update the school roster.
2 – If your child did not come this week, but WILL be coming next week, please contact their teacher so they can update the school roster. K-5 can come either Mon/Tues or Thurs/Fri; 6-8 can come one day a week; Other arrangements can be made if you are a Tier 1 essential service worker, or if your child has an Individualized Education Plan, or specific needs based on a conversation with teacher/admin/LRT/Counselling.
3 – If your child is riding the bus, please do the health check with them in the morning and provide a note indicating that you did the health check and that the student is well. The bus driver will need to see this note.
4 – If you are driving your child, please do not arrive earlier than 8:25 and remain in your car at the drop off location until your child’s teacher does a health check and you are notified and can leave.
5 – The very last day to order a YEARBOOK is Tuesday, June 9th. You can purchase and pay by credit card through cems.picaboo.com or send cash/cheque with a note to the school. $30 for softcover, $43 for hardcover.
Please call the school (250-835-4520) if you have any other questions.
A note from our Public Health Nurse: Please note that Public Health continues to offer immunizations. Parents of Kindergarten students, either currently in Kindergarten or starting Kindergarten in the fall of 2020, please contact Public Health at 250 833 4101 to book an appointment for your child’s Kindergarten immunizations.
During the week of May 11-15 your child’s teacher will be in contact with you to provide an informal report to update on your child’s learning. We all recognize these are the most unique times and thus informal reporting will look different during this time.
The informal report may come in the form of a phone call, email, Teams meeting, etc. Each teacher will determine for each family what will work best.
Should you have any questions or concerns please be sure to contact the school. Wishing you and your family all the best.
